A series of London events initiated by South Australia contribute to the success of G'dayUK.

Business Investment:

A media launch on 5 June featuring a realistic and eye-catching 3-dimensional chalk drawing by celebrated artist Julian Beever was created in a high traffic area in front of the Bank of England. Its ‘escape’ to a better business environment theme, coupled with a news feature by high profile economic futurologist Ray Hammond promoting South Australia’s bright economic future, was very well received by the press.

Kangaroo Island Hunt
:

20 life-size, unique kangaroo statues designed by artists, sponsors, students and celebrities including Elle Macpherson, were placed around central London during G’DayUK week from 23 to 30 June. An initiative by the South Australian Tourism Board and the Government of South Australia, the project was designed to raise awareness of Kangaroo Island and its attractions, as well as offering a competition to win a trip for 4 to Kangaroo Island and Adelaide, South Australia. The kangaroo statues are being auctioned on eBay and proceeds donated to not-for-profit organisation Making A Difference For Peace, founded by South Australian Gill Hicks, MBE.

Peter Gago Wine Masterclass:

A great turn out to this event that showcased the evolution of both the Bin 389 and Grange together in this comparative tasting. Key attendance of wine trade including Jamie Goode, Julia Harding MW, Joanna Simons, Sarah Jane Evans MW, Christine Parkinson, plus VIP guests such as Ian Botham, Deputy Australian High Commissioner Adam McCarthy.
 

Selfridges South Australian Wine Tasting with Matthew Jukes:

Selfridges and the Agent General for South Australia, Bill Muirhead, welcomed VIP customers and guests to this South Australian event hosted by Matthew Jukes. 40 attendees gathered around Matthew in the modern Wonder Bar of Selfridges to listen to his entertaining stories behind the 6 quality South Australian regional wines that were tasted.
