Australia Needs Skills Expo highlights Australian opportunities

On 27th and 28th June 2009, the Department of Immigration and Citizenship hosted the fourth London-based Australia Needs Skills Expo, and the sixth to be held across UK/Ireland. The Expo formed part of the inaugural G’Day UK campaign – a week-long series of events aimed at highlighting the unique range of skills, resources and opportunities offered by Australia.

This year’s Expo was highly targeted towards skills in critical demand in Australia, ensuring a suitable fit within the current economic climate. Across the two days of the event, more than 1,800 participants with skills in demand in Australia met with 37 Australian employers, government organisations, assessing authorities and relocation service providers. The event proved to be a successful means for exhibitors to meet quality skilled workers within required fields.
