Wine Australia Advanced Wine Assessment Course in association with AWRI

Monday, June 29, 2009

In Australia, The AWRI Advanced Wine Assessment Course (AWAC) is an intensive four-day course designed for participants with considerable formal wine tasting experience. It aims to prepare potential new wine show judges and develop the sensory analysis capabilities and the vocabulary of Australian wine industry personnel at an elite level. The course evolved through demand from winemakers and industry figures, where it provides an understanding and training platform for the exceptionally high standards demanded of Wine Show judges.

Over 800 Australians have now completed the programme and the response has been tremendous. The A$3800 event is oversubscribed every year and receives great reviews; http://www.awri.com.au/industry_development/wine_assessment_course

This one day seminar will provide a condensed version of the AWRI's course and will focus on wine fault recognition and the ability to build consistent analysis when evaluating flights of wines.
The event in the UK is part of the week long celebration of Australia sponsored by G’Day UK and is aimed at key industry opinion formers whether media, educators or buyers.
